WTF is this?

PeteB picked this one up last week. Very unusual looking fish. I have no idea what it is, obviously released, but would look great in an aquarium.

Yep
Yep they have the same characteristics as a bulls eye. As said they frequent the over hangs and caves and keep out of the light hence the large eyes. But... ya never know MAXY

Yep, I'll put my hand up for this one.
It's a ROUGHY, reasonably common on coastal reefs, inhabits caves, single high dorsal fin, rough scales, reddish brown colour, found mostly south of Kalbarri. Grows upto 17cms, don't think they are edible.

Rough Bullseye
Rough Bullseye - one of the most abundant fish on south and south-west reefs. google Pemperis klunzingeri. Never caught one on a hook, but as a few have said - you see them in spades when diving. There are few species of Bullseye in the southwest. Note that it is different to a 'roughy'.
