I prefer to use sinking stickbait using a baitcaster tackle as it is easier to work the lure.
Do you let the lure sink all the way to the bottom before commencing your twitching retrieve or you do it the moment the lure hits the water ?

the riverwhere we were'fishing is about a meter deep with rock bars and snags so basicly start as soon as she hits the water and pull with the current but yes in other spots i do let them sink and twitch back and this particular time i was using a spin reel
