New Ground Dhu
Submitted by Mitta79 on Mon, 2009-07-06 13:05
Headed out for the first time in nearly a month, stopped at a lump I found on the way home a few trips ago and 1st drop before the sun had come up my cousin was into a cracker 11kg dhuie, 2 more drifts resulted in 2 more dhuies and 2 bust ups and 4 skippy. After that I said to the boys we better leave them in peace now and decided to go for a look around, found 1 more little patch of ground and 1 more dhuie hit the deck and another bust up and 1 lost big unknown on a octajig. On the way home stopped in to catch some whiting for bait for our up and coming trip to Wagoe. Was a good day and the weather was superb.

In the 30's and to the north.
We were the only boat fishing in that close from what we could see.

Been fishing southwest bank30+m and beyond80m the last three months but on recent trips its been a bit quiet out there.Maybe just bad skippering on my part

New Ground
Nice work mate. Can't beat finding new ground and pulling a couple of quality fish off of it. Great to see that 'new ground' still exists.

We did pretty good, we were a bit amazed at how close you guys were fishing when the conditions were that good. Now I know why.
