Finally

When I moved to Perth 20 years ago there's always been one fish that was on my bucket list that I wanted to catch and that was a WA Salmon I'd caught them over east before but nothing bigger that 3.5lb in the old scale. Well after many attempts of trying over the years and hearing all the usual stories 'You should have been here yesterday' etc etc I'm sure you know the ones I finally did it. Sunday morning I landed my first WA Salmon and was pretty damn stoked it was 76cm and went 5kg and once he was hooked he wasn't going far all three trebles were well and truly embedded deep down. I know a lot of you guys have probably caught heaps but I was happy with just the one you couldn't wipe the grin of my face all that day

Good stuff, mate...
...went out with uluabuster yesterday and finally got my first (and hopefully not last) ones for the season, via the "Cockburn Sound Boat Rodeo". Really fun to catch, and you never forget your first one!
Hoping they stick around for a while, and that their offspring will be giving me a hard time on whiting gear in the estuary over the next few years!

Yeah he was bleeding when I landed him. It didn't go to waste though cooked it up in crumbs with a bit of spice that night came up a treat.
