GME 300 radio

have installed a new gmE300 27 mhz radio into my boat, basic straight forward instalation but for some reason cant pick up or make radio check with whitfords.... there is power to the unit as can search through different channels but no radio signals on any channel .. any ideas or help appreciated, cheers Davo

Aerial
Davo double check that the aerial you are using is in fact for the 27 meg radio. It wouldnt be the first time I have come across the wrong aerial being supplied or fitted.

It should have the type written on the aerial. Usually its just above the ferule at the base or on the ferule. If it supplies just a model number post it up and I or others will be able to tell you if its 2zmeg, VHF or AM/FM.

over land
Dave the rdios dont work to well over land, where abouts are you trying it from, otherwise take your boat down to the marina and try again , otherwise Transair in Malaga can base test your unit
