Pretty
Pretty Easy mate. Most panels you buy will come with a wiring diagram. Check out this thread http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=310696 Im away at the moment at work, other wise i would get the camera and take a photo of the back of my panel in my boat. Maybe another member could do it for you... will make it easier for you to understand. cheers

important
One very important thing to remember is do not earth anything to the frame/structure of the ali boat.
It is a recipe for trouble.
Otherwise pretty simple.

On that diagram, it'll work
On that diagram, it'll work fine until you switch it on, then you'll fry your fuse as flicking the switch on will bypass the the appliance by making a short circuit in parallel with it. The sounder switch also wont do anything :p Down the page on that link are some better diagrams/improvements.
Crugs, the best thing to do first is figure out what all your components are. E.g. Which lights, sounder, other electronics, etc. What switches do you want controlling what? Draw up a simple non-electrical diagram first. Having a separate switch on the battery is useful too (Because you can flick everything off with one switch and it will also kill any voltage in the wires that may be sitting on a wet deck and perhaps leaking). Btw, the 4 way switches from Whitworths have wiring diagrams with them and also have a waterproof gland. Got one at BCF that didnt have either... and more expensive.
For a tinny, you want quality waterproof connections (face it, they get more wet in a tinny :P) and probably an efficient wiring diagram. Once you know what you want, people can help you with exactly how to do it.
Make sure you use proper tinned dual core wire though. The non tinned stuff will just corrode out after a while.

Its a poor diagram but will
Its a poor diagram but will work. The negative going to the switch would be for an LED to show that the switch is on - pretty confusing for someone that doesnt know what they are looking at.
Surprisingly though, Crugs, hlokk has some good advice there. Id follow that.
