Tailor Time, Big Time
Well with all the reports of alot of tailor on our northern beaches and having a great session Saturday arvo with Colin and the chance to sneak out again, who could say no to a Sunday session.
After having a nanny nap to refreshen up in the arvo i had the car packed and ready to head off at 3:15pm and arrived at my destination at just after 4pm.
Got to the beach unloaded the gear and upon walking down to where i intended to fish seen only one other guy fishing, woohooo i thought, that was until i got close and seen all the weed floating around then thought bummer.
Anyway what can you do except persist and alot of the time it will pay off.
It was alot different to Sat arvo taking atleast 15mins for the first fish after endless lumps of weed on the lines and hunting along the gutter to find the part they were holding up in.
Once the first fish was in , it was full on after that for the next hour, throwing fish back that were smaller(under 40cm) and only keeping the 40 plus fish.
By this time another guy joined in on the action and that saw 3 of us getting into them.
Looking over on the beach i say kempy fishing there and getting huge lumps of weed so i told them to come over and get into them.
By that stage they slowed a bit but the younger boy still got into a couple.
best part was i was all done nice and early and left by dark(normally when you would expect to start getting them)
Came home with my bag of 8 fish, a couple over 50cm and most around the mid to high 40's
my bag of 8 fish
kempy hooked up
Sunset upon leaving the beach all bagged out

Now come on Matt
After two days of getting soaked, battling weed and wind and catching a heap of fish - you have to be close to being lured to the dark side.

I've never had much luck catching tailor from shore here in Perth. I'm gonna give another go tomorrow evening.

Better luck than I had!
You had better luck than me and the kids, went out Friday evening and got nothing but sea weed. Tried again Sunday arvo, more sea weed so we packed up and tried off the rocks at Hillaries. No fish, but no sea weed!!!
We'll get some one day I'm sure.

Didnt realise it at the time
Didnt realise it at the time but we were fishing 100m to the left of you yesterday arvo. Battling the weed. lol
We were able to work out when the tailor were on the bite because you guys on the rocks would bring a few in ... and before you knew it they would start smashing our mulies from the shore.
Was a perfect afternoon in the end (besides all the weed), good looking choppy water strong south-wester blowing. Between the four of us fishing the beach we managed to land 20 tailor of our own.
Had a ball testing my new stradic 5000 and shimano starlo stix beach outfit.
Gotta love the start of the summer tailor run.

yeah i was watching all the
yeah i was watching all the guys on the beach struggling with the weed, that was the advantage where i was that you could see it and somewhat avoid the weedy patches as much as possible, though you guys done pretty good getting 20 off the beach
