lowrance gps reciever

G'day everyone,
Recently my lowrance gps reciever has packed it in so i went up the shop to get a replacement but at $400 i went home empty handed.
So does anyone know of a cheaper alternative to buying a new lowrance reciever? Or know where i can get one cheaper? Im currently using a lgc-3000, but i was told they no longer make them so the $400 replacement was a lgc-4000.
Cheers Paul

Plenty of options if you have a look.

Cheers for the link dodgy, but all the listings on ebay i could find were all used items which im not keen on, realy want a new one. Thanks tho!
I remember reading on here about someone having the same probem with a furuno gps and someone else posting a ebay link with a replacement for only a few dollars. I cant find it now tho, also its for furuno. Guess im hoping for something similar

What's wrong with your old one exactly?
Mine started loosing the position of the boat , then re-acquiring the signal after 30 seconds or so . After a while , it got worse,, until I got the message of a problem with reciever.
Before spending out big , just try pulling all connections apart and gettting some decent electrical contact cleaner and dousing all the pins and plugs. I used crc xtr. It seemed to have worked last trip out.
If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am.

Yeah grayzee mine occasionly
Yeah grayzee mine occasionly would loose signal and then kick back in 5 mins later, but its slowly gotten worse and now it tries searching for a signal but then just comes up with a msg saying problem with reciever. My last trip out i stuffed around with it as much as possible but didnt pick up a signal once while out there. Ill give the crc thing a go again tomorrow, they still look pretty clean at the moment tho.

With the 4000 you may need a different conector though. I use the ebay units all the time and they work fine.
