2wd boat launching from lancelin

Anyone have any expirience and advice on launching a 4.2m tinny at lancelin with a front wheel drive magna. checked out the beach last time i was up there and sand was solid as, only thing is never beach launched with a two wheel drive... do it or don't?

Boat is only 200kg or so, so I'm thinkin we shouldn't need to get the trailer submerged and winch the boat up with a little lift if needed, and FWD will pull it out easier with the driving wheels not in wet soft sand, yea?

Have memories as a kid launching the old 15ft sea rider with the old man and our old 1979 sigma with waves up and into the boot.

Just need to get out to lancelin island for some photo's for a project

G'day Dave, if your in & out quick man I would not see a problem with a boat that size given that the sand is fairly rock hard up there. Looking fwd to you pics as always

Dave,

Good advice from Lamby. Had years and years of beach launching with my Grandad up there.

He has a 14 foot tinnie and we launched with his 2 commodores he has owned. In about 15 years of going up there fishing,

we only ever got bogged once and thats down to us taking too long in getting it in.

Just line yourself up straight with the beach, role your car up and back a few times. Just to mack some hard tracks and launch away.

Be fluent and fast but dont rush and panic and you'll be fine.

Happy Lanno island. great place there
