Hi
I am looking at purchasing a 2008 Sea Fox 236 WA.
This is my 1st fibreglass boat, any feedback in regards to these boats would be appreciated.
Cheers

Hi Garth,
have a look on the forum called www.thehulltruth.com (tht) plenty of threads on that on these boats,
i think the boat gets a bit of a bad wrap in the US, the few i have seen (here) appear to be fairly well built for the price, but they tend to lack a few of the nicer finishes (the earlier ones at least) like fish boxes that drain into the bilge or themselves instead of over the side -
cheers

Gday Garth....I've got a 2004 257WA and am really happy with it all things considered. I have owned a number of boats previously and the layout, functionality and quality of this tub has all been good. The biggest whinge about these boats in the states is for cheap/messy electrical wiring. This has not been a drama for me at all....and is also one I consider to be an easy fix if you do encounter any problems. There is some feedback of manufacturing issues in the early 2000's but this appears to have been sorted out fairly quickly. Most of the detractors on The Hull Truth and other forums are owners of Grady Whites and other boats that cost double or more. They are not comparing apples with apples.
My research turned up professional reviews that rate the hull and total package as really good value and praised the performance on the water. The hulls have a lifetime warranty.....and feedback from most actual owners in the states is really good. I use my SeaFox regularly out of Dampier in all conditions (generally once a week) chasing billfish, bottom bouncing out wide, spearfishing and overnighters out the islands. Allround it has performed really well. On the slight negative, there is one angle bow on to a short sea that produces a heavy pounding in rough conditions....but only takes a heading change of a few degrees to sort out.
