Its a visual attraction that adds to the appeal of your bait "package" IMO.

not sure

Used them for years then went off them, still, if they work you've still got a chance of catching something if you've lost your bait. Guess thats better than nothing. I just found when there was a bit of a current they would tangle your line a lot more than standard rigs which annoyed me.

It also helps sticking one

It also helps sticking one of those small lumo sticks inside the squid adds as an extra attractant

Put one on your top hook so

Put one on your top hook so it sits over the "top" of the hook then put some bait on the hook.  Just bait the bottom hook.  You are also inceasing the size of the presentation.

Compare your catch to your mate who has no lumo squid on what so ever over say 3 trips.   The deeper the water the more evident it will be.

Well didn't catch enough to

Sat, 2009-09-05 08:59

Well didn't catch enough to notice really but my squid got pretty hammered by a school of small snapper and had no eyes left after the first few drops and then a whale snapped me off so that was a small waste of money.... maybe next time!
