Hi all, hopefully I can find a mariner out board guru to point me in the right direction
ive got a little boat that was given to me by an older fella, it's very old but doesn't leak and runs, (bonus) I was chasing some info, I want to see if I can source a manual for the engine, so I can rewire, tune ect ??? Does any one know how I can find a year ect, or where to look ? I've been surfing the net with not a lot of success , all I can figure is its about mid to late 70s... Any advise would be appreciated , cheers in advance

I asume it is a silver/grey
I asume it is a silver/grey 6-15 hp 2 cilinder Mariner with an Orange stripping on it
These are actually Yamaha manufactured engines.
I restored one of these.
It runs as smooth as silk
Post a pic of your outboard and I might be able to help you, even with some spares that I have

Cheers, it's been painted
Cheers, it's been painted over (possibly about 30 years ago) so I'm not sure what colour it was, but it's a 55 hp mariner, made in japan, from what I can find I think it's about 1976, were these Yamaha built ?

Have a look at some casting
Have a look at some casting marks on the engine block, If you see the 3 tuning forks (Yamaha logo) then that will be the maker.
For parts for these Dinghy world in como might be a place to try.
