Nice solid reel
Had one for about six months and I find it a good solid reel. The drag seems to engage from free spool to strike drag pretty quickly, ie quite sensitive, and there is a lot of drag there. What I found odd at first is its noise. It makes a clicker noise when you wind the handle and you can't turn it off?? Got used to it pretty quickly.
use it for a backup demersal so doesn't get a lot of use.
cheers.

Never new that
Learn something new every day - that suggests that a mod wouldn't be too hard??

Love it
Hey Dirt,
I've had my PE2 reel for about a year now and don't use anything else for my demersal jigging. Matched up to a 150 gram JM Titanium rod its crazy fun when you get on to a decent size fish (like the sambo in my profile pic i got while on charter with Whitey) Due to the amount of drag these have I dont run PE2, but instead use PE3 Diawa Boat Braid (fits about 300m). I pulled mine apart a couple of weeks back to do its first service and found it easy to do using the guidance of a you tube video. As Brody said there a the clicking sound as you wind due to the dual docking system. I dont mind the sound at all knowing it equates to a very robust reel. I believe you can order a 'mute' version if the sound bugs you, but you wont have the reliabilty of the dual docking system. Love the reel so much I'm considering selling my Saltiga Z30 so I can either get another PE2 reel for my 200 gram rod or maybe the PE3 reel.

Another vote for the reel,
Another vote for the reel, they are a great bit of kit.
There is also a higher speed 'monster game' version you might consider depending on what suits your jigging style
When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:
n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or
n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.
