I've snorkelled it
there was a shedload of tailor in there, herring and I suspect sambos (but they shot off when I went over towards them. The only other thing I will say is I have lost tailor there to small reef sharks while fishing if that puts you off swimming in there.
I wouldn't attempt it if you aren't a strong(ish) swimmer as it can surge a fair bit with the swell - depending on conditions obviously......

how deep - depends on where!
in the middle part I assume? Its probably about 3 - 4m at a guess........the clarity is not very great as you could imagine with the water breaking over the reef and creating a lot of white water.

i am a good swimmer
especialy with flippers on but i was just worried about getting sucked under a ledge or something
how big are the reef sharks youve seen
and do you think you where in shooting range of the tailor, i love to catch tailor on a line, but to spear one would be awesome
i always wanted to know what mewstone and the ledges look like underwater
i'll obviosly try to dive a sub 1.5 metre swell, this weekend maybe

the reefies
were probably around the 3 - 4' range. not huge, but they'll take a chunk out of ya if they decided to.
and given I have never shot anything underwater besides a gidgee, you can probably get within 5 or so metres? No idea if thats close enough though.....

I had a scuba there once but saw nothing worth spearing. I was surprised how lifeless it seemed so haven't been back there since. I might of got it on a bad day so there's only one way to find out if it's worth going....
