Got myself a GoPro2, but yet to get a nice footage on it ... so happy with it
One tip ... do youself a favor and get the LCD BacPac with it ... makes a hell of a difference. Also th Outdoor edition comes with better accessories in my opinion.
+1 on the LCD backscreen. Makes it so much easier for filming.
I also got the dive housing and have found that i prefer the footage it even creates when filming on land. Reduced the amount of vignetting in the corners of the footage. Have also bought the Helmet mount and put that on my work helmet. Hopefully get some footage over the summer :)
yeah i have nearly every accessory you can can for it only thing i dont have is the wifi back pack as its not available in aus yet but will get it when it does become available
why do you rate the lcd back pack so much it achives nothing ???? i only got it cos i thought i would be able to watch and delete vids through it say on an extended trip you could free your memeory up and clear the shit footage but it is a viewing tool only and just chews battery if its on whilst recording !!!
i love the go pro the full potential isnt shown on you tube!! although you can change the video to full 1080 hd on the bottom of the youtube video clip which shows its potential a little more but nothing compared to how clear it is straight onto the computer
i love watching my days fishing and seeing things i have missed or things i do i dont realise i do whilst fishing i havent tried mine under water at all yet
had it mounted on the hard top out billfishing but nothing to show for it except blue ocean ;)
well worth the money in my opiniontho great little units as they sday they are the best compact camera in the world pretty impressive photos too ;)
I just like the LCD back screen as i also use my GoPro like i would a normal Video Camera, hence liking being able to frame footage. For example i use it when me and my mates go sandboarding, and so often when without the LCD back screen i would find when i got home to watch the vid, i didnt have it pointed exactly, or i was too far away and the subject looks tiny, and with the Gorpro not having the ability to zoom you have to position yourself the correct distance away from the subject to get it framed good, hence the LCD makes it easy for this. Yeah it does chew the battery more, but for only using it in short sessions i have yet to have it die on my mid shoot.
Obviously i dont use the LCD backpac if its helmet mounted or on my bullbar/handle bars, as i wont be able to see the LCD anyway. But also lke it for when diving as i can see what i am pointing it at perfectly when attached onto a pole.
Hahaha yeah gotta love the burst mode, take enough and surely there is one good one in there hahahaha.
Just got a plastic adapter mount for the GoPro, called a VUJU Quikee, so i can screw it onto an extendable paint roller pole or any pole that has the paint roller screw end. Not to sure what i am going to use this extra length for yet, but i am sure i'll find something :) Plus its alot cheaper and more versatile than buying the GoPoles or the other aftermarket poles!
seen a view where someone done similiar to what you explained and had it in a rod holder and sort of gave a birds eye view of the fishing area which looked good may need to put a slot in the pole to stop it spinning in the holder tho
I'd say that bottle top would be spec of rust by now. ;)
It ain't a plastic bag or bottle that would be a diffeent story but a bottle top I can live with !! bye the way don't loose a sinker as there lead and are harmful

Nice vids Doug, looks like an awesome trip - but that blatant toss of the bottle top into the water @ 4:15 in the 2nd vid is bloody poor form.

Haha - yeah I knew that was coming.
Yes, a sinker is worse than a bottle top.
The Main difference is that most will do what they can so they won't lose a rig.
Seeing that just makes you wonder what else went over the side without a care.
But if you say none of the other stuff went over the side I'll take your word for it ;)
