Exmouth Landbased Tackle

Planning a trip to Exmouth, was going to take my Veritas 4 travel 3-6kg with a TD-Black 2500 running 12lb tasline and 16lb fluro leader to flick 4-6" plastics and some stick baits but from what I'm reading im going to have to go alot heavier.

I'll mainly be fishing from the beaches and marina.

Would a veritas 5 travel 6-10kg and the TD Black 2500 spooled with 20lb be sufficient or will I be looking at getting a 4k real to match?

I was hoping to get away using the 3-6kg veritas mainly targeting jacks and spangled but if a big trev comes past...

I've only done one trip to exmouth years ago. But I remember thinking I needed to bring heavier tackle for both boat and landbased. The spangoes/bluebone etc run straiight to the reef. I would think upgrade to 30b at least. That setup would be fun on the flats though.

 I agree with these comments.

I agree with these comments. It's good to have a light outfit for flats or a feed of whiting but spangos etc. will crush that unless you're lucky. I have a 4000 reel with 20lb braid and a 5000 with 30lb and have most options covered, except chasing GT's!
