Bunker Bay Salmon
Submitted by lachieH on Mon, 2016-04-25 13:58
Hi Everyone,
Went to Bunkers recently, great day caught heaps of salmon. Decided to GoPro the last fish of the afternoon and make it into a vid. I reckon its a good video, can anyone tell me a few ways to improve the vid?
thanks,
Lachie

Well done young Lachie
Great to see a good capture and release with the fish appearing to be in good condition on release. The under water shot of the fish being released then coming back was very good.

I'd say
because it's a lot more rewarding to catch sport fish from a picturesque beach than
stand next to 82737383883 others at a man made fish abbatoir!

Gday, thanks for your response. I will loosen the drag a bit next time thanks for that tip.
I am driving to bunker bay because I would rather not see people release their salmon with their tails cut off, which I'm sure that you are quite familiar with? I remember you saying once that you cut the tails off when releasing because salmon are pests.

How can someone "have fun
How can someone "have fun fighting it" without a tail?
if you want to kill it then eat it or use for bait or something don't mutilate it and chuck it back

I guess that'd be about the time someone gives you a solid flogging for doing it. Giving a flogging to a total flogger, some poetic justice in that I reckon.

Most would agree with me when I say you're the pest fishingigrl.
How about we cut your legs off because you're using our oxygen.
Bit rich from you telling the guy to back the drag off when you need a Stella to stop "pests"

Nice work on the salmon
Nice work on the salmon Lachie, they pull hard no matter how much pressure you put in them.

Nice vid
Good work Lachie.
If your catch-and-release with the salmon then keep your drag as it is. If you have a loose drag it will take longer to get them in, hence the salmon will spend longer fighting and tiring itself out. If you release them when they're still green they will swim off much healthier... as your saw.

Nice work Lachie. I don't think you need fishing lessons.

Great vid mate and like the underwater shots...well done on the catch and release to
One little tip for your camera is to apply some Rain X on the case where the lens looks through and this will help to prevent water droplets staying there and distorting the shots.!
Keep up the good work.
My fishing spots are so secret........... even the fish don't know where they are !!
