My brother put a bunch more ribs in to compensate for the loss of rigidity, it will just fold up with out it!

In the end he sold it and bought an out of the box CC, deciding it just wasn't worth the misery.

Cheers Till. That's my only reservation mate. Have looked at out of box CC's and they don't really seem to have any more ribs than this does. The ribs are generally close together (~400mm) up front anyway. Seat only 1.5mm pressed sheet filled with low density PU foam so not sure it has all that much rigidity? Might just go have a yack to a fabricator and get an "expert" opinion.

He had an older savage and it was a pretty robust hull but very flexy without the bench. The seat would provide a lot of rigidity, the ali is very stiff end-on and filled with foam it would have next to no flex.



I had a quote from dolphin somewhere, but it was pretty expensive a project and we just felt it wasn't cost-eefective.



Part of the reason is those tinny hulls are really hard to weld, being so very thin.

m8 why u want more room ? ah to put more dhuies on board gottya now lol . ado if its any consolation man last time i was in denham sharkbay fabricators had one like mine in the workshop after converting to cc & lopping out front seat it ended up like bashn the to sides of the bow in with a sledge hammer m8 . was definately in for major surgery and yes he was having to put in more ribs . cheers deano

Deano, clambering over that front seat to set anchor, access gear a pain in arse. Also figure no-one fishes up there at moment, so would open it up a bit b4 i hit Gnaraloo in May. Cautious of the sledge hammer scenario, but others have done it and said to me NO WORRIES....big call tho

Ahh more for the grades they need for making boats, places like specmar sell you plan and the right to build one boat, then they send some cutting plans to onesteel down in freo, and they cut them and deliver them to you;

(for the 1020 IIRC, the 1326 is heavier, probably about $4k for the plate back in 10/08))

The tinny's that are set up for cetre consoles have the wide gunwhales to provide the strenght the seats would normally provide.
Ado,my question is,why do you have to go up the pointy end to set and pull the anchor?Its a bloody side easier doing it from the middle of the boat.I've just got half of a plastic 200litre drum to put the rope in as you pull it in.When you need to pull anchor just drive up on it and reach over the side to grab it.Once its time to move store the tub where ever its safe and out of the way.I've got a rope loop on it that I drop over the front bollard to stop it sliding about.

John - I hear you mate. Mayb I need work smarter with the room/layout I have? Wished I went the extruded gunwhale option, alas I went the immediate delivery/availability option instead. Have seen mates who have modified their boats (same model as mine) wih success however.

out the front bench just convert it to a front cast deck ( not a hard job) and it will reduce the streanth of the bow i rekon keep the low flow it will increase stability my grandad made a full floor for his tinny and you can notice a big difference
