We call him unlucky (not very often)

Third drop of the day and taken right on the bottom at about 255m then all the way back up again... He wasn't happy after this, but the next drop changed his luck as per usual.

Bugger that.
Is that a torsa reel Tim? Thinking of upgrading the duel. Want something for my JM Powerspell 300 rod.

yeah mate it's a Torsa 20 and
yeah mate it's a Torsa 20 and is one sweet reel. High geared but heaps of power, it's my go to heavy reel and is what I used in NZ on big kings and bass. It fits 600m 50lb braid or 300m of PE8. For the JM 300 I'd be looking at the Torsa 16 or 16N.

You rate the torsa Tim? No
You rate the torsa Tim? No doubt a good reel but never really heard anyone say a good word about it from a jigging perspective.

I rate it highly Jay. Great
I rate it highly Jay. Great power and retrieve ratio with a good capacity. Probably the only thing I'd change is get a Torsa 16 or 16N next time. The slightly narrower spool would make line lay easier. Having said all that I think the 30 and 40 are way too big for jigging, the 20 is as big as you need. The JM PE reels are lighter etc but they weren't around when I got this.

You would feel like you were kneecapped going from a torsa to a JM, the retrieve rate is so different.
