Varied motions depending on jig, where i am in water column, etc, etc.

Generally lift rod in a long stroke (medium pace, but depends on the jig) then drop giving slack line and wind in the slack and repeat. Occasionally short rhythmic jerks with a slow wind, or just twitches. I mix it up a bit (not sure if my retreives are the best, but they do work, the question is whether any work better :p). Best advice is to look what your jigs do in the water and pick an action/retreive that you like.

20 species this year. I've only caught three demersals on bait this year, the rest has been jigs. I'd say the right conditions are pretty much any conditions :p I dont like a really fast drift though, and occasionally you'll get days they'll only hit baits, but it seems to work pretty well so far.

Feel free to borrow any of my jigs (I just need to be within several meters at all times, haha).

you have done well on the jigs this year, you might have to find a new style of fishing and start again . 20 diff fish on jigs is probably more fish than i have caught locally this year .
