X 2 for chinaman fish. hard to see the colours in the pic but they are normally lit up with a lot more stipes. red bass are more like a jack on steriods
but the colour is light. However you can just see the lines. The eye is positioned where it should be IMO for a Chinaman. Not bad to blood the boat with that.
Question - where did you get it from as this may help with ID for certain.
All going well Neels, had a few sessions out as of late, managed a solo sailfish once week and last week got 2 reds, 2 rankins, a trout, cobia and a big mack for 90 mins work. No chinamen for a while.

Red Bass
Not a blunt enough head for a chinaman , looks more like a red bass with the deeper colouring

Thanks Guys
It was on ice for a while before I could get a photo. Colours were a lot deeper when I finally got it into the boat.

How did you rate it on the table
In the eastern states and other places it is the number one carrier of Ciguetera, so everyone avoids them (even here)
But they are very safe in WA and I enjoy the firm white flesh.
