nice fish Andy. What depth were you in cos it looks like there's a bit of bum hanging out of the fish.

40's
Tim, this fish gave a massive initial run, I kind of figured it for a sambo to be honest. I kept the pressure on with short sharp pumps of the rod and kept the head moving forwards so it came up surprisingly quickly.
Only drama I had was trying to get the rod butt into my rod belt bucket under several layers of winter clothing. Coz it was drizzling most of the day I had put on a spray jacket over the top of the rod belt and couldnt get the butt into the belt through the jacket. Every time I did it the fish got its head and bolted. After about three goes I finally got the jacket out of the way and the rod secured and back into the short pump and wind technique and the fish raced to the surface. It surprised the hell out of me when a Pink hit the surface.
I would have expected a more lengthy battle with one this size. Its only fair that the fish popped a sphinchter as I probably came close on the initial run to popping one of my own. (LOL)

Ha yep had an "invited" pinger
didnt have any other boats buzz us though so all good.
Shame the sounder on the rat was playing up otherwise they would have caught a few more fish on the spots I marked for them.
Cheers
