Yep that was from today
We had a real mixed bag, with 8 dhuies, several BB's and a sambo, plus a few skippy, a nice KG, a feed of sandies plus countless other non-edible species.

Nice BBQ
Top fish Andy. The bags have been very mixed of late. It would appear the new regs and the relocation of pros is helping to restock the metro fishery.
The best reason for doing what's right today is tomorrow.

I agree
Whilst the huge specimens continue to elude me these past few years (lack of time on the water hasn't helped) I think that we are seeing more size fish come over the side than we did a few years back. My personel view is that the age class that sat just under the legal size limit over the past few years (and therefore was not being aged by fisheries frame research) is coming through nicely so lots of captures between 50cm and 70cm at the moment.
With continued good education / information / publicity regarding release techniques and recaptures I think you will see a lot more fish around in 5 or so years time. Definitely not back to the way it was 20 years ago, but certainly on a par with say a decade ago. I point to the video footage Paul G took of the dhuies they had released, showing them swimming around nicely, then point to the recaptures he has had as well as a few of mine along with a raft of other recaptures the ANSA team have been getting of late.
The knockers that blindly sprout the "what's the use they all die from barotrauma" mantra can all go eat humble pie.

Still revert back to your video on how to take wings off from time to time. Very informative.

Absolutely
Wings never go to waste in my household.
Glad the vid has helped keep another fisho's knives from being blunted. Its something every angler should learn how to do the easy way.
