Land based sambo
Submitted by Fishn104 on Mon, 2012-10-22 14:09
Hi all,
Went up to Wilbinga for the weekend. Caught a couple of nice tailor before i was into a battle with a big sambo. Stripping 250m of line and a long hard battle, 20 minutes later, eventually it gave up. I won!!!! Measuring 1623mm and weighing in at..... well you can be the judge of that. I think between 30-40kg...maybe more!!! Tried to release it but didnt stand a chance. Tried swimming it for about 20 minutes but to no success. I'll never forget my first sambo.....

An absolute beast!
When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:
n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or
n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

Congrats on the horse, especially for your first sambo. If only all my first fishes was monsters of their species.
Unlucky on the release as I would've tried like you did.
