Kidney Slapper saved the day

Kidney Slapper saved the day

My eldest daughter Rachel with one of two nice KG's we caught yesterday. A welcome addition to the icbox when we struggled to get anything else of note.

Tagging kit got another workout on undersize and "just size" dhuies.

A bag full of plump sand whiting and a couple of cuttlefish saved the day.

Only drama for the day was the scaling bag rope snapped whilst towing, leaving 50 or so big whiting floating in the water. Thankfully they didnt sink while I frantically turned the boat around to pick them back up.

Absolutely

I swear by them. The day you use it for the first time, you will wonder why you didn't buy one years ago.

No more scales to clean up, and saves a good amount of time at the filleting table.

Tim Carson, Till and I used one up in Exmouth a couple of years ago at the FW comp to skin a dozen squid, it did a good job and again saved time at the cleaning station.

Nice KG, I think any fish

Sun, 2011-08-28 15:13

Nice KG, I think any fish caught yesterday was well deserved. We worked very hard for a baldie, pinky and a reasonable breaksea. Caught plenty of undersize pinks and surprisingly only one undersize dhuie. Tough day, but the conditions were great.
