Whales yes, Dolphins No.
I used a new release weight today, seeing as someone released my release weight a few trips back. Worked a treat, very basic huge sinker with a barbless hook tec screwed into the side of the sinker. The boys at Compleat Angler in Joondalup make them up and gave me one when I told them I was making one up myself. I think they sell for $10 each which is pretty cheap when the sinkers themselves cost about that much.
There are a few variations on them out there now so no excuses for not having one onboard guys.

Trolling
Definitely a good chance of a yellowfin when you find dolphins working bait.

Thats a good point to put acroos but in my experiance the only YF tuna that hang around with them are usally the same bluddy size as them!lol. Ive tried it twice near rotto and the result = 2x spooled!lol. Worth a shot though, or use bigger gear than 10kg :)
Keep it tight, reeeeeeel tight!
