Yum for sure. I think what has some confused is the mouth shape in this picture. John Dory stalk their target, and then has this massive mouth that opens up like a cavern and suck the taget in.
This one has been hooked in a way that when held up it appears to have a very long snout. This is the massive gob extended.
Loved catching them as a youngster when we lived in NZ for a couple of years. Best or near on the plate.

One of the best quality fish in the ocean to eat imo. I wish they were more readily caught in metro waters.
