Im not into it at all,

Im not into it at all, possibly increasing the ban timeframe is enough.  Numbers have been great going by reports and seeing charters head out nearly every day and bagging out is like a punch in the guts.  Just my opinion but protecting the snapper in the sound is enough no need to take away the small boat snapper spots outside of the sound.

Next thing will be 'fishers targeting prespawning snapper outside of new ban area'  Stocks need protecting now. Extend the area to the 5 fathom.

Gotta be other agendas happening behind the scenes. Recfishwest have nothing to do lately?

I think it is good

How oftern do you read on this site and others of people baging out day after day just prior to the start of the closure. You only have to look in the sound some evenings and the amount of boats around the D9 wreck is nothing short of amazing.I think reckfish west do quite a reasonable job of looking after the interests of wa fishos and support this idea.

lets not forget what happened to the snapper bio mass up at shark bay some years back.

Snapper Numbers

Wed, 2019-07-10 14:51

Have to agree , we dont want to kill the future for our Kids.  Some Local charter boats seem to targert only snapper...... and whilst they need to make a living, given the number of times they go during the week and bag  limits  it may be good to reduce them...

The lottery Tag system used in Shark Bay had good results, perhaps use some similar system to stop the Amauteres going  5-6 times a week and bagging out, you can only  eat so  much Snapper  and it doesnt Freeze that crash hot,

Boundary Unworkable

Wed, 2019-07-10 19:25

With a ban boundary like that would be very hard to police as there are no physical  boundaries you can see to know for sure you on the right side of the line.

If this is a ploy to stop

Fri, 2019-07-12 06:50

If this is a ploy to stop the Outer Harbour then I'll go along with it.

But otherwise I think it's too much.

If you want to start the ban earlier then take to time off the back end.

You have to allow people to use the resourse or they'll just end up poaching it anyway.

 If the outter harbour goes

Mon, 2019-07-15 16:43

If the outter harbour goes through its all for nothing anyways. We should be focussing on what the f the government is going to do with the harbour befor we get all precious about the pink snapper stocks and extending the ban and the area.
