Reading article that says squid cannot see different colours people's thoughts on jig selection then.

Squid jigs
My vote goes to razorbacks they catch twice as many as anything else twice the chance with the extra spines

your jig too the right depth to the

So I have read, there's evidence that they might see the ultra violet spectrum too.
Every time I think I have it sussed, the next trip I find a different jig might work better.

in the old days they taught us that squid and occies - the cephalopods was a evolutionary breakthrough for the way the eye developed - similar to ours and not compound like insects and other molluscs etc
they also stated that squid could communicate with colour changes in the mantle and i have seen this diving on the GBR , or behaviour that made sense to me as communication, this might be patterns and colour or maybe just the pattern of the flash.
as for jigs - whatever Da pirate says - he s the most succesful squidder on this forum at least
I have been most succesful with white lummo -silver with slight pink glow

That New jigs work best and you should always buy new jigs to use....
