Anything would be better than the Ullman seats fitted to most of the early Naiad rescue boats . They were killers on the legs when trying to travel quickly in rough conditions. I found it more comfortable standing than trying to sit on the bloody things.

Have been out of sea rescue for about 2 years now and think the new boats have gone away from the Ullmans motor bike ride on type seats---thank heavens

 There's a local guy that builds something similar nor. I can't remember his name but I'm pretty sure it started with a v. I looked into them but ended buying a good pedestal suspension post and new seat. I have also slowed down in driving and tend to go out on the fair weather days now. 

Do your home work on these type of seats, had gas strut seats in Armoured truck and had one of them bottom out on a country run once and the jarring went straight up my spine.

 Ive got a S5 on my tub (passengers arent worthy of one :P )

only had it about a year, but its definately worth the money. takes a little trial and error to get the amount of flex/ cushion you like and they need to be set up for your weight, but once its dialled in, they do make quite a bit of difference.

Another key is to make sure the pedestal/ box or whatever your mouting it to is the right height/ distance from the wheel etc- they tend to sit a little forward/ not exactly vertical and flex down and forward a bit as they cushion

I keep a close eye on it and it doesnt seem to be degrading/ any signs of wear etc but I have read some of the rubber bushes need replacing after a while. They are built really solid/ quite heavy for their size
