Sambo jigging
Submitted by chrisp on Fri, 2009-11-20 16:18
Hey all,
Had a great day out with saltwater charters today with ,Darren,Daz (Dazsamfishing),Jamie(till) and honsu. The sambos were thick and good size.
One of the highlights apart from the sambos was a 12ft white pointer making off with my fish right at the marlin board. Im sure the other boys will have some good snaps but heres a few of mine.
my biggest of the day..
Daz with a solid fish
Grey coat
smith amj 54h loaded
sore arms and satisfied..
cheers

yeah Garry,
we were all debating that due to the pointy snout. But in the end the skipper reckons whites can have that snout and blue colour from above in the water.

It was good to meet you
It was good to meet you Chris, Jamie & Honsu. Finally good to meet some fellow FW members that share the same passion.
If it was a mako - it's probably the biggest swimming around Perth.
It certainly was good to finally christen some new gear on some healthy sized sambos.
How do I upload pics to this thread?

We were getting them every drop. They were all quality fish. Don't think any went below 20kg - few nudging the 40kg mark.
Darren lost a few jigs though... but he really enjoyed himself!

some solid units amongst that lot! Bodes well for a good season provided the wind plays ball over the summer.

Actually you know what else they wouldn't touch?
That guy from NSW up the front of the boat put on a blue swlabs ruddertail 600g on, thinking big lure = big fish, but he couldn't get a whack.

Good to see the stellas
Good to see the stellas getting into the action, all the saltigas gears would have been worn out after a session like that
Cant wait to unleash my 5000/6000SW stella onto a Jigging Master Power Spell 200gram for a bit of fun shortly.

I have to put a special
I have to put a special mention out to Craig from Saltwater charters. He did very well in making sure the fish were released appropriately & always put us on top of the fish.
I've been out with a few other charter operators last sambo season (not mentioning names), and today I noticed a big difference in attention to detail with their work.
We even started with a bbq of bacon & eggs... unfortunately, a few couldn't keep them down on the way out.
