Can anyone recommend some places to see and fish to hopefully make this a fishing trip to remember cheers for any input we need all the advise we can get with this one.

KARRATHA/Dampier areas
KARRATHA/Dampier areas pretty good, drop me a pm when you're coming through and I'll fill you in on what's happening at the time, too many options available to go through.

Barra pretty much on the way
Barra pretty much on the way out and billfish on the way in. Could be an epic trip particularly if your trailer is up for poking around Cape levique.
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

Portsmith
Portsmith south of Broome , big lagoon & mangrove creeks to fish when the winds blowing & nice big channel to get out in the ocean . ( just watch the tides )

2 Months? Is that all.
Sounds like an epic trip coming up there.
Last year we did a month trip up the Gibb river road. Fishing wise there is not a lot on offer from Derby to the Kalumbaru area. Plenty of fresh water rivers and small fish to be had with the reported few bigger fresh Barra but nothing that i found. This time of the year can be a problem on the dirt tracks depending on the last rains. We never got past the Mitchel falls turnoff heading for Kalumbaru and that is where the Barra/Mangrove jacks can access the rivers. All reports are that there is great fishing to be had down towards Kalumbaru.
North along the Gibb from there you can access the bigger rivers, Durac, Pentacost, Ord. Best bet is to come in from the north side at Kunnanura and check them all out. Plenty of places to camp and easy boat launches. Being this early in the season will make you one of the first tourists to fish there so less spooked fish. Just remember the locals fish there all year so saying hello to them can be productive.
I have done the WA border to Darwin run once but it was so long ago my memory of places and names has dimmed a bit. Might have to do with the millions of brain cells killed of in the interviening years..lol. Plenty of tidal rivers along that stretch with dirt road access and semi safe areas to launch a tinny. Just watch out for the tide, it's massive, and the lizzards.
Be sure to have a cast net because live bait is the best way to get a feed. Lures and softies are a must for the sport of hunting fish but no guarantees.
You will have a cracking time so post some reports and photo's if you get close to an internet hot spot. (not many up there thank god).
Sometimes when the water is quiet, you can hear the fish laughing at you !
