Highlights from our trip last year--sails weren't the full-time target, but we racked up a few, and had a good time on the way.

Cleaned Up
Cleaned up on the sails - well done.
Dad looked like he might have got pinned in the neck if that sail had kicked.

I was Dad.
Rule 1 Get a firm grip on the bill and NEVER LET GO
Rule 2 refer to Rule 1 :-)
I don't like heaving them in over the side, dragging them over the rail, it really knocks them around and stresses them.
It was a funny three weeks, couldn't find one for love nor money until after the moon, concentrated on the mackerel--caught several fish in the 30kg class, with the usual quality demersals mixed in. After the moon , the macks just disappeared and the sails turned up-we released 19 in maybe ten days of fishing, best day four. But we weren't trolling for them all day, usually three hours absolute max. Had to catch something to keep us fed, and there is always the issue of fuel usage--not the cost, but the actual obtaining of it,(remote camping) have to ration it out a bit.

That was funny
I'd lost track of him, line was slack, he swims up to the back of the boat with my bait sitting in his mouth A funnier.more spectacular catch wasn't really on the video--we had retrieved the skirt and had it hanging at the back of the boat, concentrtating on the ones snaffling the baits, when one came screaming in, lit up , I swear, in fluoro green, looking like the angel of death it was an absolutely awesome sight; he then grabbed the skirt less than three metres from the rod tip, and son promptly grabbed the rod and sunk the hook.
