New Ship, any advice for inboard maintenance

 Hey all,

Have recently bought a Leeder Tomcat with a 5.0 Mpi and Alpha gen 2 leg.

Is there anything in particular I should be doing as peventanble maintenance, or spares to Carry?

The boat is always well washed down with salty Captains products and the engine flushed with there flush.

Any tips/advice would be great

Love the boat, very roomy, stable and easy to fish from

I had the  mercruiser 350 mag on my caribbean 2400. other than the usual flush after use, I use to regularly lightly wash/hose off the (cold) motor, and when dry I would spray silicone spray over the whole motor/hoses/belts/wires/etc. it repels salt water, stops corrosion, keeps the hoses and wiring glossy and stops them going brittle.

Yep basically do that.

Is lanolin spray ok? Someoine told me it softens rubber hoses etc?

Very nice.

As far as spares go carry at least one of each belt needed and hoses. Along with coolant just in case. Inox does similar to silicone spray  . Keep the bilge empty to prevent the motor sitting in the water
