Marine cd player

Howdy people, Im chasing a bit of info on the GR 968 Marine cd player. (Pretty sure it's a GME) During my last trip to Can't Tell Ya bay my stereo stopped producing sound. I can see on the front of the stereo that the cd or radio is playing but no sound. I have hooked up another speaker to it and it wont produce sound either. I have put the Multimeter on the wires coming out of the back of the stereo and it's only putting out 0.82 volts to the speakers. I was wondering if anyone could do the same and see what there's is putting out or if anyone knew roughly what it should be putting out before i pulled it to bit's. Any help would be great.

I had a radio do that to
I had a radio do that to me once and it was the volume knob had corroded when I pulled it apart. Water had got in arround the knob and eaten away the tracks. I made new tracks out of solder and wire and it worked fine, but only for another six months.
Salt water spray and pounding in a boat they dont last as long as you would like.
My present one is now doing the same thing. All the display but no sound. Im off today to buy another. I got 4 years out of this one.

had it too
i had it on mine too front lit up and the little sound bars went up and down but no sound. turned out to be the built in amp in the deck itself. got it replaced and bingo tunes again.not sure on the output volts tho

Yeh cheers guy's... Seems as if it is what you said mike.... the amp card in the back of it... sent away yesterday so im just waiting on the bill now i guess.
