Might be an amature question here but can it make that much difference to the action of a slow demersal type jig even if you exseed the rateing buy 100 grams? It's not like your going to break the rod after all the aim is to hook a fish that weighs much more. I haven't done a lot of jiging, but the fish I have caught so far have all been with the rod in the rod holder.
slow jig shouldn't make as much diff as something faster like a knife jig, just be careful of rods in rodholders due to angle - big fish grabs it and automatic high sticking in holder can snap the rod depending on rod composition

yeah no problem.
I have an Evo Titanium 150 and have slow jigged up to 270gr on it.
Not ideal obviously, but for slow jigging its fine.
When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:
n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or
n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.
