How big
Hello guys,
I currently have had a 4.8m bowrider for one year and its been fun but I find 4.8m ali a little restricted in when and how far I can go out. What do you guys thing is a good size to upgrade to ? I sawa stacer 5.65 reef runner, or I saw a sewxy little haines traveller but its only 5.33 pretty new for sale anyone know anything about them ? I guess bottom line whats a good size boat one that will allow me to hit direction bank and the fads without being scared at teh first sign of swell or wind ? not cost the earth ie a markham dominator is out of the questions only in my dreams :) and I gota be able to pull it in my toyota front wheel drive I guess thats another catch, and yeah the miss will expect snappers/duh as my excuse is I can go further and deeper honey, with this boat :)

My boat is 5.8 metres and I really have to pick my days to go out to the Fads. If the forecast is anything more than 10-12 knots of wind I go somewhere closer in. For a typical Fads season (March-May) there are maybe seven days I feel comfortable going there.

we looking at
we probably looking at 6 - 6.5m boat at mandurah boat show next time, as our 5 runabout is also the same, restricted for fishing, and scared to go out too far.

i got a 5.5 meter boat ,and
i got a 5.5 meter boat ,and like anything even in a bigger boat like 6.5 you still have to wacth your days its a long run out and back if it gets nasty even with a bigger boat, i havent had to many hassles in my boat headed out in 15 knot winds no probs, just make sure the forecast doesnt turn into yesterday

i bet u saw a few small lightning then sudenly a big one came !! lol that was scary it struck the water about 200m infront of us!! jesse was so scared! yeah dirk a good day is all u need!

yeah i rekon jesse would have been, we didnt see any big ones near us or just wasnt looking in that direction, the only thing that made me jump was the first big thunder hitting

boat show
mm the boat show is in august, how much discount do they normally give on a boat ? i have looked at the Quintrex Offshores and they seem to look like nice rides for alu but new @65k :( thats 25k more that I would have to hide from the missus trickey....

just buy here a few pairs of shoes, some clothes and stuff and they she will be ok, tell her you will put a cd player in it for her too
besides its only 25k, she would only waste it if she had it, lol
