Helped out with a scuba try dive for the Wheelchair Sports WA group a few weeks ago at Challenge Stadium.
Awesome crew and was a fun and rewarding arvo.

Not sure who enjoys it the most
When I first became a SCUBA instructor 20+ years ago, I ran a course for the Disabled Sports Association - the participants all had such a great time, with a couple of them going on to gain their Open Water qualifications. For some, it was only an experience that they would not forget - but that they were pleased to have taken part.
Mostl, due to the disabilities they had, found it wasn't feasible for them to take up diving as a sport.
I have really fond memories of one student in particular, who didn't understand the term disabled, and without having full use of his legs, put me to shame with his attitude and courage. Taking him for a shore dive at Trigg Beach was totally unforgettable...
I recall at the time, believing that I gained more personally from the experience than they did. The able bodied team that assisted each diver also said at the time they wouldn't have missed the opportunity.
I believe it is more rewarding to be the one doing the helping in life, rather than being the one getting the help!
Well Done Pete - and thank you for bringing back a wonderful memory for me!
Save the Whales! May as well - they won't fit in my catch bag!!!

Im keen on taking my younger sister if they still do scuba courses for people with disabilites. My sister has downs syndrome, and i know for a fact she would put me to shame if we took a course. Lol. She can already swim better than i can,
