Giralia - Any tips?

Morning Team,
We're headed up to Giralia in a week and a half for 10 nights and this trip is, compared to what we normally do, fairly last minute. I have done the old google and Fishwrecked search for info though am chasing any recent feedback or suggestions for fishing?
Boat wise, we have a 3.3m inflatable with a 5hp Yammy on the back so range will be limited. We are there for the full moon and the next 10 days so tides will be a consideration.
Based on our last trips to tamala where we got a combined total of 5 fish over 17 days, we are taking enough meals to last the trip though a couple of fish or crabs would be the cherry on top.
Has anyone been there recently and able to offer a report?
Cheers

I spent a few days there last week.
What camp site have you booked?
We took a pair of tinnys and did a bit exploring on the eastern side of the gulf. Crabs pretty hard to find in the nets but we got a few walking the flats and hooking near the old fish farm.
It's very tidal and shallow so you really only get mid tide to mid tide in the boat.
The area they call the sand spit has a few reasonable jacks that move through the area and plenty of squid. Well within putting range.
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

Thanks for the good info,
Thanks for the good info, Dodgy.
We're at Bunjils so 2km to the creek by the looks of things.
To be honest a feed of squid would get me pretty excited so that is a good sign and crabs would be sensational having never caught one.
What was the water clarity like? Worth taking snorkling gear and a spear gun?

Water clarity was pretty good. Big tides might get things stirred up.
Might be worth a jump in around the sand spit. There are some rocks around there. The spot we dived was on the eastern side so probably too far to go with a 5hp.
The station owners are really friendly and happy to give you a map with all the usual spots marked on it.

I'm doing a similar trip in the very near future - so cant quite help to answer your question yet but will watch this with keen interest. I've heard prawning is well worht a shot, but that might be seasonal ?
Do you use the inflatable as a car topper or do you deflate and pack it up ?
Curious as I am hunting for a car topper for that trip. I initially considered an inflatable but wasn't sure how the rubber sides would hold up when travelling on the roof rack with vibration.
Cheers !

Prawning is very hot and miss. Wasn't any around when I was there but I didn't spend time looking seriously either. But I always have the cast net on board just in case.

As as a flyfisherman who frequents that part of the gulf from Learmonth the spitsand is a great area to target species, on a incoming tide
stick baits sight cast over the sand can get some excitement.winter might be a bit hard with cold water. Just north of the tip of giralia is a tidal mangrove island, to the west of that is
a heap of oyster incrusted bombies and your get all sorts of species cruising through them. I hope to do the camping thing next year ,prime time - March to June.

So it all sounds positive. I will pass on the prawn net this time and be overly content with the hope of squid!
All of this with the comfort of a full freezer of livestock anticipating normality :-)
