i test drove one in karratha about 18 months back. made an offer but it went to someone else.
seemed to go quite well. was a bit short on deck space for what i wanted, but that was about the only fault in my opinion. also drove it on a calm day so can't help you with how it goes in the chop. had a 140 suzuki on it as well.

might be the same one
Gray hull, on the hill again Jarrid. I have a Traily 540 and this boat just looks sooo much beamier and more useable dack space than the Sportcab.

i'd say it's probably the same one. had 28 hours on it when it was sold (original owner got made redundant and left down in the GFC - which lasted all of about two weeks). i think he got it for about $48k if i remember correctly. that's assuming it hasn't been sold again since then.
another thing i didn't like about it was that it had no clears. but that's an easy fix.
how much is he asking?
p.s. you should've bought my boat

Ive had a 580 Genesis sportscab for 10 years
Can't breat them for deck space. Very practical for a fishing boat but not so practical for a family boat.
I'd say they have the same hull basically so would handle the chop very similar. Mine bangs a little but does cut through the water better than most ally boats I have been on, and I've been on quite a few.

Genesis 550
Hi Neels,
We've got a 550 XL Centre Console.
A bit different to the cab version you are looking at but stiil the same hull I think.
It's an all round good solid boat.
Suits our needs perfectly but do have to agree with Andy Mac- it does bang a bit when you head straight into heavy chop.
But that's about the only negative thing I can say.
Ours has a 115Etec on the back, which is great for a family boat- so with a 140Suzuki should be more than adequate.
