Fishing video - recording whilst charging?
I have a poor man's go pro, its actually a digitech hd sports camera. I have worked out that recording in vehicle mode means I can record continuously onto a micro SD card (mine will be 16 GB). it records in five minute blocks and when the card is full it starts overwriting the oldest five minute block (it actually deletes the block and continues to record).
My question is....
can I safely plug in the 12v charger and continue recording so the battery doesn't go flat or will that damage the camera? the battery takes two - fours hours to charge which provides 80 minutes recording time.
when I am out trolling at steep point next week I was hoping to have it recording continuously and we'll save the strikes and hopefully the landing of the fish to a laptop each night, clear the card and start again the next day.

My thoughts are it wouldn't
My thoughts are it wouldn't damage the camera, but if not enough power to keep running it you may find out later you missed some footage. lack of power may also affect finalising a block of footage but may not (again will just mean you missed it)...
Other thing is seeing it has a vehicle mode for cars so I would assume you can power it whilst using in the car with no probs so you may be okay.
Check the manual if in doubt to see what it say's re car use

the manual is silent on
the manual is silent on charging while recording. it does say that when in vehicle mode it will continue to record until the power gets to low and then it shuts off. and a 12v accessory charger is included...

Sounds like the charger
Sounds like the charger doesn't have enough output to run continuously then.
