Esperance
Gday Fellas and a few Ladies,
Having recently made what some may call a tragic decision to move from my home of ten years in Exmouth to the Desert climes of Boon....Ahh Kalgoorlie I'm beginning to display classic beachy bluewater withdrawl symptoms re; finding exmouth beach sand in my running shoes and letting the grains fall through my hands whilst staring into the bottom of the engel at the last few remaining cryo vacced peices of bluey and tea-rout.
Therefore it's time I headed off to Esperance next weekend to check out what this southern stretch of wind blown coast has to offer. The forecast is telling me its going to be a balmy 27 degrees so I might have to pack the 7 mil budgie smugglers.
What I need from people who have had a look down this way is to find out where I can get the hilux onto the beach to find my own stretch of sand, fishing is not a priority this time round as I've been well spoilt in that department over the years. I'll probably take a light flick stick and have a play with a few of the local bread and butter species. I'm not looking for any heavy four wheel driving, just a short run without too much need for shovel work!!
If anyone has anything to inspire me or feels like imparting some small tidbit to start my esperance discoveries it would be appreciated.
From the Desert.

If ya heading east of Esperance use Cape La Grand beach, easy 4WD can get of at eastern end and access some real nice beaches further along will miss rangers pay station which is on main road. Duke rocks/beach is a good spot to head as reef-raider suggested. Good chance of salmon
Old fishermen never die they just smell that way.

Yep...what they said. Beaches
Yep...what they said. Beaches east of town are generally better to drive on and harder than those out west. Grab a map/tidechart from the tackle shop next to woolies.....
Have fun and enjoy the best beaches in australia! (I'm a little biased)
