Got one
If you look back on the thread Douglass Craft rebuild, nico and I in the past seven months did a project of a 5.7 and she now sits at 6.8. We ended up putting a 150hp johnson and that has proved to be very powerful, 42knots at WOT and very light.
Are you talking inboard or outboard, runabout or what?

stable hull that is for sure
stable hull that is for sure handles well in rough water the stringers are a fibreglass top hat stringer system no timber which is great just look for your usual soft spots in the floors and tranny look at prices there are a few over priced Douglas crafts on the market at the moment.

Regular
That and Ocean Reef are my normal lauching spots. 115 Johnson woulld be adequate. Would probably be a lot more economical than the 150, too! lol. Please contact me if you need any further info. thank you for the compliment but it was mostly nicos efforts that it looks as good as it is. I just passed the tools!
