Denham fishing for 1 or 2 days ! :/

Hey guys... so just arrived in Denham after leaving Exy but only here for 2 possibly 3 nights and have never fished out of here before so I'm basically throwing out a scared schoolboy cry for help on any info that might help me find anything (preferably top water) that might bend a coupla rods? I have no clue where to go or how to fish the area so any help will be sick! Cheers again f wreckers!

Yeah I'll let ya know for sure mate! I'm staying in the shacks literally staring at the boat ramp out the front door across from the fiesta setup so I figured something was going on... might just have to follow someone out and hope they know what they're doing haha

 Hey mate, you fishing from

Hey mate, you fishing from boat or shore? I'm no expert on the area, but I had some luck on shore after driving up the cape and picking some of the more remote spots, and usually would cast a bait out far, and use some lures in the shallows. If from boat, then think it's just a matter of cruising, at worst there are lots of those school mackerel around which are good fun and I usually picked them up with a floating mulie/whiting.

pretty amazing place to explore.

Boat mate

Thu, 2024-05-16 16:14

Got a 5.6m trailcraft up here mate, made it out to dirk and got a few mackies which was good... didn't know where I was going or what I was doing though, chucked a coupla lures out in some fishy looking water and apparently I was bang on which was a sigh of relief... returned to the ramp for the Mrs to pick me up and the boat and I were covered in blood, her jaw was on the floor and gave me the "what happened" lol I guess neither of us expected that! Boats are flooding into town thick and fast now with some serious money in tow so I dare say the fish population will cop a floggin over the next few days!

 Head across to the loading

Head across to the loading jetty at Useless Loop for Pinkies. You may get 25 small ones for every size one but just use 6/0 hooks.

Did the big run out to steep

Fri, 2024-05-17 21:11

Did the big run out to steep point this morning along with a pounding easterly that got stronger until about 2.30pm.

Almanac said it was gunna be a crap bite day and it wasnt wrong, nothing until closer to high tide at 2pm and then only crap.

Got bricked by something substantial out from steep point in fairly shallow water but decided to get started on the long trip back expecting huge troughs but thankfully the wind died mostly and it was a more relaxed trip back to the ramp.

Strong easterlies expected all week.

Luckily the fridge is full of piss LOL.

9nm North

Sat, 2024-05-18 11:01

Had some ground about 9nm north and about 3/4 nm offshore in 9 metres , find a reasonable looking spot , anchor up and burley. Very soon the just undersize snaps arrive right under the boat and the trick was to then cast as far away from the boat to get the bigger fish.

Used whiting heads or fresh mullet from the fish factory for bait.
