I know it’s a fishing forum but I’m sure a few people here have campervans.
weve started looking to buy one to take to gnarloo.
thinking a forward fold camper (don’t want a soft floor) with a roof topper rack.
anyone with recommendations, both good and bad on make, features etc.
plemty of MDC around, so thinking a cruiser high side.
thanks for the help.

I have a PMX Albany rear
I have a PMX Albany rear fold and quite like it. They really do pack so much into them these days.
I like the rear fold because it gives plenty of storage options and still easy to quickly fold out and sleep overnight without unhooking from the car. Can run 4 days with no extra power sources on the inbuilt system. Plenty of plumbed water.
I may be selling shortly as well if you wanted some specific details. The big cape york trip this year got cancelled and putting it off for 2 years we will take a van I reckon.
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

We had a PMX and it was good
We had a PMX and it was good bang for buck. It was just as they were starting off so it was cheap at the time and we actually made money on it. It was a bare bones base model which I fabb'd stuff add onto.
The welds on the chinese components were pretty average as were the gas struts but that structure never missed a beat and we loaded it up beyond the gunnels so to say.
We made the mistake of getting the biggest one we could get which meant it was an absoloute pain in the arse in wind when we camped on beaches.
Camper trailer was good because it was light and nimble though we now own a Jayco Swan and can free camp in it after a 15 minute setup as opposed to hours in the soft floor fold out.

Been looking lately also.
Been looking lately also. The mdc cruiser slide suits us and seems better than the rest. Also looked at all the others and couldnt believe the amount of sharp edges especially around the doors and slide out kitchens. The pinch weld edging they use never covers the corners property. Theres plenty of info on the mdc Facebook groups. Plenty of happy owners with afew unhappy campers.
just dhu it

Exytrail
I have a exzytrail forward fold Stirling Gt mk2. Great unit and plenty of storage. Several web sites on their different models and peoples views.

In a rush of blood we purchased a second hand 2018 mdc last weekend. Next weekend we are off for 2 weeks. Hopefully all is good.
