Broome time -- Is it worth taking the gear?

Gday crew. Imagine there are some sore heads around the country this morning... ha ha.

The missus and I are wheeling up to Broome for a bit of a getaway prior to the Christmas crazy times. What's the fishing like around that area? Coming into the wet, I imagine it will be luck of the draw with weather, but a bit of rain never hurt anyone :) much land based around there as bit of a rushed trip and cant be assed dragging the boat from Gero for a daytrip..

Any and all advice be greatly appreciated..

Fishing is hard work but defiantly bring a range of outfits.  Light spinning rod for queenfish and trevally buy a net license but a throw net buy a bucket drill some holes into to keep your live bait. Go to bannana wells on low tide for a chance at a barra and bring a crab pot for mud crabs look at the tides chart and plan where you are going to go will creek good on low tide . From the mangrove walk through the mud fish of the bank for bare able salmon javelin fish black Jew fish fish at night along crab creek road for salmon an hour before high tide

At this stage, its a flying trip to catch up with some good friends and have a bit of a look around. Have never caught a barra in my life, but if not mistaken, prob a few months to early to try and target them ?

Always keen for a few beers if your about :)

I went up there in late

I went up there in late November last year with the missus for 4 days and took a rod and brought a bit off tackle up there to have a crack. Ended drinking beers at the boat ramp shops and then heading back to the roebuck bay hotel which was where we were staying swanning about in the pool with more refreshments. Probably one of the most relaxing holidays I've ever had.

I went out to the E-5006 a while back. I reckon that would have to be one of the longest times in a chopper crewchange ive yet to have.
