Best live aboard fishing charters in oz?
Hi everyone,
Myself and a few other members on here (Bodie) and a close group of mates have been privelaged enough to share some awesome fishing trips together. From towing 8m long boats for week long boys trips in Exmouth, to a recent Abrolhos trip, trips to Augusta ect. We really have been very fortunate. All of the guys work very hard and love the chance once a year to collectively get away from it all somewhere remote to tackle some tough fighting fish, drink some beer, have a laugh and above all attempt to lose most of the good tackle we buy to unstoppable fish.
I wanted to seek some advice from others on here where some of the best offshore live aboard fishing charters / or even charters in general may be?
Budget per person $3.5-$4k max
preferably a week at a minimum
our most preferred fish species is red emperor, coral trout, rankin cod, ect.
are there any standout charters anyone has been on for about a week they could highly recommend? Usual crew numbers of about 8 blokes. Looking to book for going either late this year or early next year

Reel Teaser is good, but it
Reel Teaser is good, but it sounds like you want a bottom bogging charter? if so there not for you.
mahi mahi or blue lightning could be worth a look, but there going to fishing the same areas that you can fish in your bigger boats but at 4x the cost and 2x the travel time.
If your into sportfishing Nomads are pretty big over east, but you'll need to splash out twice your buget each to do something like that.

that price get 7 blokes on
that price get 7 blokes on Mahi Mahi III with captain Bernie for a week long Monties charter, 6 nights all up. I'm heading out with him again this year in october as i had such a good time last time around. he will do whatever you want to, if it's just bottom bashing no worries but you'll have your 20kgs of fillets pretty quickly. the shallow water fishing is awesome for trout, spango's and big jacks and bluebone, you can deep drop on the shelf and troll for mackies and billies or even pop for GT's if the weather allows.

Mahi Mahi or Top Gun 2 are about top of the list, you can't go wrong with either.
No sure whether to boys on Seaforce charters in Coral Bay do extended trips but would be worth finding out as there is a lot of ground north and south of the bay worth exploring'

Broome to Roley Shoals
Not sure about the cost there but that would be a blast. Just to catch the big trout, red bass and sail fish its renowned for!!

from the above sounds like the Monites is the place you want to go ....just have to sort out the charter.

Yeah was certainly thinking the monties would be the best option for catching what was mentioned. Wasn't sure if anyone has been on charters out of places such as far North Queensland (port Douglas) ect. As I hear the fishing and species out that way can be pretty awesome also.
Or or even something off Darwin

Why not do the same trip you
Why not do the same trip you did at the Abrolhos but shift it further north to the montes. The distances are quite similar and you get the satisfaction of doing it yourself.

What you really want
if this part of your post is true "tackle some tough fighting fish, drink some beer, have a laugh and above all attempt to lose most of the good tackle we buy to unstoppable fish" is a trip with Nomad Sportfishing.
No offence, but it sounds like you mostly want to fill the freezer with fillets. No problem with that, but the bottom bashing/jigging etc will be pretty much the same at the Monties as the other places you've mentioned. If you really, honestly, want a trip of a lifetime with some hardcore fishing then Nomad is it.
