If I can't get hollow core Kevlar, is there anything else I can use? I have some 300lbShout line but that is too thick for some of thesmaller jigs that I have.

Hi Alfred
I had the same problem a little while ago but found some good stuff at Bluewater. It's called Zaito Powerflex and they had a few different sizes down to about 70lb from memory.
I've tied some assists with hollow kevlar and while it works it comes back pretty frayed so I seem to be changing these hooks over more often than I'd like. The Powerflex stuff has a inner wire core (doubt it would stop mackies though) but ties down beautifully and seems to go the distance well. I gave the 120lb stuff I bought a good workout at the Abrolhos and the Monties and was very happy.

I also tied up a few with the inner core from kevlar but it just doesn't seem "right" so haven't tested it yet.
If you want to stick with kevlar they also had lighter sizes down to I think about 150lb, maybe less.

Hi Alfred,
Might be a bit late but I just came across the post.
Campbells in Leederville have a range of Varivas assit cord on the shelf. 80lb up to around 300lb from memory
