Ive tried the improved blood knot and slim beauty but am looking for more of a wind on
to get a few meters on the reel . Any ideas please?

PR
We use the PR knot for 50 plus braid to leader and casts/goes through the guides just nicely.

Richter wind-ons....
We use Richter wind-on leaders that are premade and very reliable. Ideal for trolling/mono setups and just a simple bimini or platted double then cats paw connection.

can make your own windons
can make your own windons pretty easy mate, save a few bucks... Alternatively with 100lb leader you could try the double centauri, with a bimini in the mainline. Used to use this for casting leaders up to 100lb so its a reasonably small knot and very strong. http://www.sealine.co.za/view_topic.php?id=41423&forum_id=44
