27 meg radio

Looks like most of you are on 27 meg, so my VHF is useless fro contacting you folks on the water.  Thinking of getting a 27 meg to as well, what do you folks recommend?

G'Day Alfred and compliments of the season.

Yes, it seems most ship to ship (boat to boat) comm is via 27, though some still persist with comms on VHF 82 down here

I had a GME and found it was very suseptable to water (probably me going overnuts with the wash down hose) - so maybe think about having the HF tranceiver fitted with a waterproof housing.

Doesn't look like there are many options, will probably go with a GME.  Might mount it in place of my stereo which I don't use when out there.

Thanks for the responses.
